Michael James Bolan, age 55, resident of Fort Scott, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at his home. He was born June 13, 1957 in Missouri the son of James Bolan and Patricia Ann Cooper Bolan. Michael was a 1975 graduate of Fort Scott High School. He first married Scheryll Barnard and they later divorced. He married Tammy Newton and they divorced. He married Bonnie Taylor on August 21, 1992 in Fort Scott. Michael had been employed as assistant manager and delivery for Pizza Hut. His hobbies included Nascar racing, NFL football especially the Chiefs, SciFi movies and older movies of John Wayne.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie; one son, Michael J. Bolan Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Ponca City, Oklahoma; four daughters, Heather Thielen and husband Anthony, Arkansas City, Kansas, Andrea Mitchell and husband Jody and Amanda Burton and husband John all of New Kirk, Oklahoma, and Sylvia Matson and husband Roy, Nevada, Missouri. Also surviving are two brothers, Phillip Bolan and wife Annette, Fort Scott and Russell Chamberlin and wife Stephani, Topeka, Kansas; step-father, Victor Chamberlin and great-uncle Albert Beadell. Surviving are eight grandchildren, Braden Maxwell, McKayla Maxwell, Kolby Maxwell, Lorelai Burton, Aspen Burton, Anthony Mitchell, Serenity Matson and Zoei Bolan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct funeral services at 7:00 P.M. Friday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. There will be cremation following the funeral services with private family burial at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M.
