Lloyd Wayne Callow, age 91, resident of rural Fort Scott, Kansas, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Fort Scott Medicalodge. He was born June 25, 1921 at Pawnee Station the son of Charles Curtis Callow and Winifred Lozier Callow. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He attained the rank of Sergeant while stationed for 39 months in Alaska. He married Martha Ann Beetner on October 3, 1948. The couple moved to their present farm near Hiattville in 1950, where they have resided to the present. They operated their cattle and farming operation. He was a member of the Hiattville United Methodist Church and was a community leader of the Hiattville 4-H Club for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife Martha, of the home; two daughters, Ann Ludlum and husband Joe, Uniontown, Kansas and Linda Biles and husband Rick, Topeka, Kansas. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kelli Ludlum, Arlington, Virginia, Beth Ludlum, Nashville, Tennessee, William Biles, Junction City, Kansas and Elizabeth Biles, Wichita, Kansas; a brother, Glen Callow and wife Donna, Fort Scott. He was preceded in death by brothers Leo and Leslie Callow and an infant brother, Eldon Callow.
Rev. Joni Raymond will conduct funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A. M. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
