James M. Isaacson, Jr., age 36, a resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born July 13, 1976 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of James Melvin Isaacson Sr. and Paula Jean Wall Isaacson. James had worked for 10 years for Mid-Continental Restoration and most recently helped build the new city swimming pool. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served 6 months in Panama. He loved to fish, hunt, play guitar and spend time with his son.
Survivors include his father, James Isaacson, Fort Scott; two sons, Jacob Isaacson, Fort Scott and Caleb Matthew Vanatta, Humboldt, Kansas; three brothers, Joel Hursey, Paola, Kansas, Michael Hersey, Olathe, Kansas and Daniel Isaacson, Lansing, Michigan; and one sister, Katie Jean Isaacson, Topeka, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his Mother.
There was cremation. Rev. Jared Witt will conduct memorial services at 10:00 A.M. Friday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com.
