Harvey Lee Hosler, age 82, a resident of rural Fort Scott, died early Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. He was born July 15, 1929, in South Bend, Indiana. He married Margurite Clements in 1951 in Michigan. He served our country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Japan and Korea. Throughout his life, he worked as truck driver, welder, machinist, and an electrician. He also constructed his own 98 ton salvage vessel and captained this ship for several years. He was a member of the V. F. W. and the Seventh Day Adventist church.

Survivors include his wife Margurite of the home; two sons, Herbert Hosler and wife Lisa Beaulieu, Paola, Kansas, and J. D. Craig, Arcadia, Kansas; a daughter, Claralice Westra, Grand Rapids, Michigan; a sister, Harriet Kenney, Grand Rapids, Michigan; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Art Craig; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28th, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the U. S. National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post #1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com.
