Clarence “Leon” Rhodes, age 64, a resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Tuesday June 19, 2012, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born December 19, 1947, in Oswego Kansas, the son of Charles Leo and Mamie Alice Rhodes. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a 1983 graduate of Pittsburg State University with a degree in business administration. He lived his life with an entrepreneurial spirit. He was a computer technician, a mechanic, a salesman, a general manager, a property manager, an accountant and consultant. He was a son, a brother, a husband ,a father and friend.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of the home; a son, Michael Rhodes of Merriam, Kansas; two daughters, Angela Kemmerer and husband Jim, and Erin Crank and husband Matthew, all of Fort Scott; four grandchildren, Mamie Rhodes, James, Robert and Danny Kemmerer; two brothers, Virgil Rhodes, Phoenix, Arizona and Raymond Rhodes, Sherwood , Arkansas; and a sister, Wanda Ringle, West DesMoines, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Raymond.

Rev. Paul Rooks will conduct funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26th, at the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. Burial will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery with the Olson-Frary Burkhart Post #1165 V. F. W. providing military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
