Delbert Johnson, Jr., age 64, resident of Scott View Apartments, Fort Scott, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at his residence. He was born August 29, 1947, in West Plains, Missouri, the son of Delbert Johnson, Sr. and Letha Faye Rose Johnson. He worked as a truck driver for Midwestern Distribution in Fort Scott for many years. He later drove for Palmetier Trucking Company, Kansas City, Missouri. He married Billie Gayle Martin on February 27, 1970, in Nevada, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, motorcycling and working on stock cars. His greatest joy was spending time with the grandkids watching movies, especially westerns.

Survivors include his wife Billie Gayle Johnson, Fort Scott; one daughter, Lisa Colley and husband Earl, Garland, Kansas; three brothers, Mike Johnson, Timothy Johnson, and Thomas Johnson, all of the West Plains, Missouri, area; two grandchildren, Zachary and Kaitlyn Lyman; and one great grandchild on the way. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Johnson; and one sister, Janice Storms; as well as his parents.

Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct graveside services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20th, in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kansas.
