Billy Gene Webster, age 82, resident of 407 W. 23rd Street, Fort Scott, Kansas, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Mercy Health Center. He was born January 24, 1928 in Nevada, Missouri, the son of William Daniel Webster and Nina Zinc Webster. He married Dorothy Mae Lamb on October 18, 1956, in Fort Scott. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2003. Billy owned and operated his own trucking business. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He loved senior dancing events.
Survivors include one son, Billy D. Webster, Fort Scott, a daughter, Shirley Hartman, Moran, Kansas and three grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Paul Babcock will conduct funeral services at 10:00 A.M. Thursday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post #1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
