Fred Farmer, age 71, a resident of Bronson, Kansas, died late Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. He was born October 17, 1938, in South Gate, California, the son of Frank Farmer and Eunice Campbell Farmer. He married Karen Sampson on June 12, 1982, in Buena Park, California. Mr. & Mrs. Farmer moved from Anaheim, California to Bronson, Kansas, in December of 2009. While in California Fred owned and operated his own roofing company for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Karen, of the home in Bronson; three daughters, Lori Yergler, Anaheim, California and Keri Baldridge and Kelly Swineheart, both of Murietta, California; two sons, Brad Farmer of Colorado and Dwight L. Driver, Bronson, Kansas. Also surviving are his sister, Marsha Richey, Brea, California; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Danny Farmer.

There was cremation. Services were under the direction of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kansas.
